At the Kona Salt Farm on Hawaiʻi Island, our Deep Ocean Magnesium begins with deep ocean water drawn from 2,200 feet below the surface of the Pacific Ocean off the Kona Coast at our site at the Hawaii Ocean Science Technology Park. HOST PARK is a place unique in the world, it has a set of three Deep Ocean Water Pipelines that give us access to this amazing source.
CONCENTRATED
Cold, dark, and isolated from the surface for centuries, this remarkable water is the same water we use to make our Pure Kona Sea Salt. As the water slowly evaporates under the Kona sun and salt crystals form, magnesium and other highly soluble minerals remain concentrated in the liquid that is left behind.
RETAINED
Highly soluble magnesium chloride remains concentrated after the salt crystallizes. That mineral-rich solution is the foundation of our Deep Ocean Magnesium products.

Our Deep Ocean Nigari can be used as a traditional tofu coagulant. Its naturally occurring magnesium chloride helps soy milk form curds for making fresh tofu.
